On the morning of October 27, 2020, the opening ceremony of the orthokeratology laboratory jointly established by Shenzhen Polytechnic College and Euclid Systems Corporation was held at Chongde Building in the Longshan Campus of Shenzhen Polytechnic College in southern China’s most pioneering city Shenzhen.
Chen Xu Deputy Dean of the Medicine and Nursing Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic College, Liang Jinyu, General Secretary of the Medicine and Nursing Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic College, Bin Luo, Vice President of the Medicine and Nursing Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic College, Raymond Cao, Asia Regional Director & China General Manager of Euclid Systems Corporation, Linky Li, Professional Services Director of Euclid China, Seven Qi Senior Sales Manager of Euclid China and Peng Xu, Professional Affairs Director of World Elite Corporate University attended the event.
The event was hosted by Mr. Chenxuan Jin of Shenzhen Polytechnic College and started with a speech by Raymond Cao, Asia Regional Director & China General Manager of Euclid Systems Corporation. Euclid was the first foreign ortho-k brand entering China 10 years ago and noticed that China had a large myopic population in dire need of professional optometrists and eye care practitioners to provide treatment and services. Therefore over the past decade, Euclid has been constantly dedicated many resources to the development of China optometry including several school-enterprise cooperation and scientific research projects together with China’s well-known ophthalmology hospitals and optometry educational institutes and active supports on the academic development of China’s optometry academy and optometry talent cultivation.
With the same desire to provide supports to China optometry industry and education, Euclid hopes that through this cooperation, we can support the integration of vacation training and academic education in Shenzhen Polytechnic College, establish a long-term and stable organizational collaboration system with the college, train highly skilled professionals who meet the needs of society and enterprises, and achieve the goal of win-win cooperation between us.
On behalf of the Medicine and Nursing Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic College, Deputy Dean Mr. Xu expressed his gratitude for the generous supports from Euclid. He was also proud to share that as one of the earliest independent institutions in China to provide higher vocational and technical education, Shenzhen Polytechnic College is also leading the same type of institutions in the area of optometry and optical services.
After the ceremony, all participants visited the new laboratory and two parties had a separate meeting to discuss the future development of the lab and exchanged ideas on long-term strategic collaboration.
Euclid believes this joint lab is just the beginning of multi-dimensional collaborations of two parties by mutually leveraging the expertise and resources to nurture the talents needed for economic and social development and can also support the optometry development in southern China. We expect to see high-quality graduates from the college continuously join China’s cause to fight against the myopia epidemic.
